"let the games begin!": olympics viewing party

my in-laws are no strangers to throwing and attending great parties. for as long as i've dated ryan, they've always hosted solid get-togethers and never skimp on the details. the first party i ever attended was a saint patrick's day party (in 2011....?!). upon entering, ryan's mom adorned me with a green shamrock necklace, while traditional irish music played in the background. seven years later, they're still into throwing fun, themed parties. it's always something i've admired about the family and appreciated their genuine joy that comes from simply spending good times together.

my sister-in-law, courtney, and her boyfriend, ryan, threw an olympics viewing party last night. they asked that each couple choose a country to represent and bring food/drinks to celebrate. after going back and forth for a week or so, ryan and i finally decided we wanted to go as america. i dressed as the statue of liberty. ryan wore an american flag and "freedom" shirt. we showed up with homemade apple pie and yuengling (which is brewed in pennsylvania). all of the other guests were dressed to the nines and the food was nothing short of PHENOMENAL.
