DIY: View From My Desk

In case you didn't know, I'm a 6th grade math teacher! Here's a view from my desk, which has actually gotten LESS cluttered, believe it or not. I took away a few of the pictures to lessen the bulky feeling. And believe me, I'm a clean freak throughout the day, so I never have too much clutter overwhelming my desk.

Anyway, two of the things you see here are things I made myself!

2. To -Do List

I made the Pencil Sunflower Vase back in the summer time as I was getting ready to start my job. I started with an old soup can that I thoroughly cleaned out. I bought a few boxes of pencils from the dollar stores and hot glued them all around the sides, making sure they were as straight as possible so I would be able to keep them perfectly upright. Then, I tied a cute little red bow around it. This helped to make sure they all stayed and it gave it a little pop of color. Finally, I bought a few sunflowers from Michael's and popped them in! All done!

My To-Do List was extremely easy! First, I went to the Dollar Store in my town and picked up a little frame - whatever size and shape will work! Then, the fun part came. I visited a website one of my girlfriends told me about called DaFont.com, where you find tons of awesome fonts and download them to your computer. I've used these fonts for so many things ; stuff for school, cute invitations, etc. Once I found a font I liked, I simply typed "To-Do List" onto a blank Word page. Finally, instead of printing on regular old while printer paper, I used line paper! Oh, and you can't forget the little red bow I hot glued to the top corner! I had extra from my Pencil Sunflower Vase that I decided to use!
