DIY: Burlap Wreath

I have an "accidental" theme this year in my classroom - I used sunflowers everywhere. Literally, everywhere. When my sister was helping me set up my classroom in the summer she was making fun of me for the amount of sunflowers taking over the room. Oh well, it brightens it up, and the students realize!

Whether you're making a wreath to decorate your classroom door or maybe even your door at home, you can use the same technique I did!

1. Buy a wreath wire frame. (I went to Michael's)
2. Buy some burlap (also from Michael's). You'll probably need two spools of it. You'd be surprised how much burlap you need to make the wreath look like and filled!
3. Start by tying your burlap to the top of the wreath. This will secure it down and keep it from moving around.
4. Next, this is the hard part! You're going to weave the burlap in and out of each wire, twisting it each time you start a new row of burlap. Make sure you bunch it up so that you don't have any empty spaces. This will definitely be the most time consuming part. If you need a visual, check out this YouTube video for clarification!
5. Now for the fun part! You get to decorate! Get creative. I bought my sunflowers
